AIアプリのスピークで父の日についての英会話用をした。

母の日のスピークと同じ建付けなのでレッスン作成の手抜きのような気はするが、建付けが同じでもこちらの返答次第で内容が変わるのがAIとの英会話での面白さかも。
AIからの返答や添削から面白い箇所をピックアップ。
That's so sweet. What is your dad like? Is he trustworthy too?
trustworthyは、語の形からして、信頼に値する、だから、信頼できる、という形容詞。読めばわかるが会話では使えないかもな。
Honestly, my father is stubborn, so when I was a child, I didn't trust him much. But as I grew up, I gradually got to know him better and realized he is a good guy. I understand that he is not just stubborn, but also has an honest personality.
文章をいくつかの文に分けることで、より理解しやすくなります。また、時制や文法を正しく使うことで、より自然で明確な表現になります。
get to know him betterは参考になる表現だった。knowは知っている状態を意味するので、知る、という行為を表すときは、get to knowとかlearnを使う、というのが私の理解。
過去形のrealizedのあとに、isと現在形を使っているのが気になった。彼が良い人であることは過去だけではなく現在も成り立つ状態だから、ではないか、と推測したが正しい理解かは不明。
Could you tell me more about your father?
「more」を「about your father」の前に置くことで、より自然な英語表現になります。
moreを文末に置いていたら指摘を受けた。副詞の位置は難しい。
Of course! My dad is a hardworking and kind person. He always puts his family first and is always there to support us.
put firstという表現は知らなかった。〜を第一に考える、という意味。
be always there これはレッスン前のフレーズ集にあった。理屈は分からないが、いつも人を支えるためにそこにいてくれる、位のニュアンスのようだ。
He's a doctor. He works long hours but he loves helping people and making a difference in their lives.
make a differenceもよく出るがイマイチ良くわかっていない表現。違いをうみ出す、という意味から、重要である、という意味に転じたのかも？
That sounds great. I think being a doctor is a tough job, but your father is not only a good doctor, but also a good father.
「doctors are very tough jobs」ではなく、「being a doctor is a tough job」の方が自然です。仕事のことを話すときは「being a ～」という表現を使います。
My parents' house is far from here, so I sent him a present. I hope he likes it.
文が短くて自然になるよ。「prefer」は「好む」という意味なので、「likes」のほうが「気に入る」という意味に近くて適切だよ。

It's the thought that counts. は、贈り物は気持ち、という意味の定型句らしい。
Do you have any special plans for celebrating Father's Day?
「plan」は普通「plans」と複数形で使います。この方が自然な表現になります。
Yes, I'm planning to take my dad out for a nice dinner and spend some quality time together. I can't wait to celebrate with him!
take outは、を外に連れ出すという意味だろう。quality time 意味は伝わるけどこんな言い方するのだな、と参考になった。
Having dinner with family is a great way to spend the day. I hope your family has a good time.
「nice day」を「great way to spend the day」に変更することで、家族と過ごす時間の特別さが強調されます。また、"family"は単数扱いなので、"has"を使います。

時制と語順を修正しました。「this day」を「this Father's Day」にし、「next day」は「the next one」に変えたほうが自然です。また、未来の希望を表現するために「I hope to spend」を使いました。
